Reset a workspace
What it destroys, what it keeps, and when it is the right tool.
Reset clears a workspace's work and data while keeping the workspace itself.
Take an export first. Reset is not undoable, and "I thought it only cleared test data" is not a recoverable position.
When it is right
- A workspace you used to trial something and now want to use properly.
- A demo workspace between demos.
- A genuine fresh start where a new workspace would lose settings you want to keep.
When it is not
- To clear one bad import — delete those records instead.
- To fix something confusing. Reset is not a repair tool, and you will lose everything to avoid diagnosing one thing.
Steps
- Export first.
- Open workspace settings and choose reset.
- Read exactly what it lists as being cleared.
- Confirm.
You're done when the workspace is empty and you still hold the export.
Gotchas
- Reset is not delete. The workspace, its members and its plan remain.
- It is not reversible from inside the product. Your export is the only way back.
