Hosting
Set up an always-on cloud host so work runs without your laptop open.
Some work needs a machine: Studio projects, long-running execution, anything that should keep going when you close your laptop. That machine is a host, and it is either your own desktop or a cloud host Foreman runs for you.
Steps
- Open Settings → Hosting (in the desktop app, subscribing opens your browser for checkout).
- Pick Cloud-Only Lite or Cloud-Only Business and subscribe. Cloud hosting needs an active Foreman plan.
- Wait 3–5 minutes for the host to report Active.
- If this workspace already runs on your computer, use Move to cloud host on the same page. Its chats, inbox, CRM, files and settings move with it.
You're done when Settings → Hosting shows the workspace runs on your cloud host.
Always on
A cloud host runs around the clock. If it ever stops, Foreman restarts it automatically. Foreman also keeps it updated, during a nightly maintenance window (07:00–11:00 UTC) that restarts it briefly.
Changing or ending it
- Switch plans any time from the same page — prorated, and the host restarts once.
- Cancel ends cloud hosting at the end of the billing period. If the workspace still runs on the cloud host then, it is paused rather than deleted, and kept for 30 days so you can move it back to your computer or subscribe again.
Gotchas
- A cloud host is billed monthly whether or not it is busy. Cancel one you no longer need.
- One host runs a workspace at a time. Moving the workspace decides which one.
- Your desktop is free but must be awake. See Desktop or cloud host?.
